Stapler Hemorrhoidopexy (MIPH)

Haemorrhoids are most common anal disorder. Haemorrhoids or “piles” are enlarged vascular cushions within the anal canal. presents as bleeding per rectal, painful defecation, prolapse, anal leakage and anal discomfort.

There are 4 degrees of haemorrhoids;

1st degree: haemorrhoid bulges into the anal canal during bowel movements.

2nd degree: haemorrhoid bulges from the anus during bowel movements, then goes back inside by itself.

3rd degree: haemorrhoid bulges from the anus during bowel movements and must be pushed back in with a finger

4th degree: haemorrhoid protrudes from the anus all the time.

Treatment:

  1. Conservative management
  2. Injection sclerotherapy
  3. Rubber band ligation
  4. Surgery

Minimally invasive procedure for hemorrhoids (MIPH) or Stapled hemorrhoidopexy: A surgical procedure that involves the cutting and removal of anal hemorrhoidal vascular cushion. Procedure also removes abnormally enlarged hemorrhoidal tissue, followed by the repositioning of the remaining hemorrhoidal tissue back to its normal anatomic position
